Crypto crashes and dividend payments.

Stablecoins are a core part of the financial plumbing when it comes to cryptocurrency and digital assets. They promise that if you put a dollar in, you will always be able to get a dollar out.

This month saw Terra, one of the largest stablecoins, lose its peg to the dollar and collapse. Investors are estimated to have lost over $40 billion in value one of the largest fall-outs in a market crash since 2008 financial crisis.

On a slightly more positive note – June 2022 I will also be reciving my first dividend payments for the 671 units of the Vanguard FTSE UK equity income fund (inc) that I hold as part of the stocks and shares ISA which will be (671*4.3375) £2,910.46 a nice bi-annual payment to start rolling in whilst avoiding exposure for the time being to heavy weighted US equities which I view as overpriced currently.

This also helps counter the impact of paying funds into my workplace pension for the short term as i try and work towards a 200k GBP pot in the next few years.
